The issue of Kashmir was raised by Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Samarkand.
Jinping called on Pakistan to provide “solid protection” for hundreds of Chinese working on the CPEC projects in the country. Recent reports said trouble is brewing between the all-weather friends with China increasingly getting critical of Pakistan’s failure in protecting Chinese workers who came under periodic attacks from the militant groups.
