The death of Muslim league leader and lok Sabha member E Ahamed on Tuesday night cast a shadow on presentation of the Union Budget with the Congress and some other parties demanding that it should be deferred by a day. However, the Government refused their demands and Speaker Sumitra Mahajan overruled Opposition’s objection in the House.
“Today’s sitting has been fixed by the President for presenting the Union Budget 2017-18... It is a constitutional obligation,” Mahajan said.
