Selfie love turned fatal again! Three boys were mowed down by a speeding train while taking selifes on Tuesday morning. The incident happened near Bidadi, 30 kms from Bengaluru, on the Bengaluru-Mysuru route around 8.30 am.

“The boys were run over by the Golgumbaz Express going to Mysuru from Bengaluru. Witnesses said they were taking selfies. We are investigating the accident,” said Railway Police SP N Chaitra.

The three bodies were badly mutilated and scattered along the tracks over a considerable distance.

“Two motorbikes belonging to the victims were parked near the tracks parallel to the Mysuru Road, near the Wonderlaw Amusement Park. Two backpacks were also found,” said Chaitra.

The victims — Prabhu Anand (18), Rohith (16) and Pratekh Rayakar (20) — were students of the National College at Jayanagar in south Bengaluru.

“The trio was part of a 10-member group which went to visit the amusement park from the city.

They parked their motorbikes near the tracks and started clicking selfies when the speeding train hit them from behind and dragged them for about 500 metres,” said Police Inspector VS Shiva Kumar.

“The families of the victims and their college authorities have been informed about the accident and asked to identify the bodies in the hospital,” added Kumar.
