The Centre is planning to start linking driving licence with Aadhaar soon and has shared the proposal with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, to check multiple licencing menace.
“The process to link Aadhaar with driving licence would be set in motion soon to check the menace of multiple licensing,” Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said at Haryana Digital Summit. “Aadhaar is a digital identity which confirms the physical identity with the help of biometrics and there are laws in place to check against unauthorised usage of Aadhaar,” he said.
