The Bihar Government on Monday decided to recommend a CBI probe into the sensational murder of Siwan-based journalist Rajdeo Ranjan after the family members of the victim expressed lack of confidence in the Bihar Police.
The Chief Minister said no effort has been spared in investigating the murder of Rajdeo Ranjan and in the Gaya road rage incident in which a youngster was shot dead by the son of a ruling JD(U) MlC.
Nitish added despite such gruesome incidents he wanted to assure people that rule of law will prevail. “There cannot be any compromise on rule of law. But this is also a fact that no power has control over the occurrence of such crimes. I don’t want any certificate on law & order from anybody,” the CM said.
The CM denied he was ignoring other issues due to his fascination with his prohibition policy and asked at his Press conference to tell him with proof which issue he left ignored.
Nitish said after taking over as the president of JD(U) since April 10 he was out of State only for 100 hours travelling to Kerala, Delhi, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.
“I am committed to the people and will leave no stone unturned in fulfilling the promises I had made. If I have committed a mistake and laxity I am ready to seek apology by holding my ears,” the CM said and added, “Since I come from a modest family I come under attack easily.”
Reacting to the all-round criticism on him, Nitish said it was quite natural to face such attacks while being in the Government. But, he added, there should be independent analysis of similar crimes in the BJP-ruled States and it should be seen what action were taken in those cases in compared to Bihar.”
“The bogey of “jungle raj” is being raised by the same people who failed utterly in election despite raking up same bogey,” he said.
Saying that his party immediately suspended its MlC, Nitish mounted counter attack on the BJP and recalled that soon after the lok Sabha polls crores of unaccounted money in cash was found in the house of one BJP MP. Instead of taking any action, he was rewarded with a Ministry, he added.
The CM was referring to Union Minister of State Giriraj Singh who also worked under him.
