Even after 16 suspected hooch deaths, the administration was still hesitant in admitting that the victims of Gopalganj died due to consumption of poisnous hooch. “Whatever the officials say notwithstanding, I have a hunch that the reason behind these deaths could be spurious liquor,” said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while assuring `4 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of the deceased. “Action will be definitely taken against those manufacturing such liquor,” he added.
