The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday arrested four suspects in the Delhi blast case. The suspects have been identified as Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather and Maulvi Irfan Ahmad Wagay from Jammu and Kashmir, and Dr Shaheen Saeed from Uttar Pradesh.
A Delhi court on Thursday remanded them to NIA custody for 10 days. Earlier, the NIA had arrested Amir Rashid Ali and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish. So far, six arrests have been made in the case.
Those arrested are alleged to be at the centre of the terror module busted by J&K Uttar Pradesh and Haryana police. Investigations led to the Al Falah university in Faridabad where 2,900 kg of explosives were recovered.
The first person to be arrested was Ganaie from Faridabad. Then Saeed. Later, Adeel Rather was picked up from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Ali’s name first surfaced when investigators found that Dr Umar-un-Nabi, who was driving an explosive-laden vehicle that detonated near the Red Fort, had purchased the car in his name.
