India and Nepal will review and find ways to further enhance their historical ties during talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepalese counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba here on April 2.  It will be his first foreign visit after assuming charge.

Besides his official engagements in New Delhi, Deuba is also scheduled to visit Varanasi during his three-day tour commencing April 1, sources said here on Saturday.

During the talks, the two leaders will take stock of their centuries old bilateral relations, economic partnership, trade, power, connectivity, development, connectivity and people to people links.

Incidentally, this is Deuba's fifth term as Prime Minister and he last visited India in 2017.  Recently, he had thanked Modi and the Indian Government for safely evacuating Nepalese citizens from war-torn Ukraine.

This visit is in the tradition of periodic high-level exchanges between the two countries.
