The Delhi BJP is sparing no effort to make the proposed rally of BJP’s chief campaigner Narendra Modi in the Capital a grand success. The party plans to make his presence felt across the national Capital while he would be addressing the rally at the Japanese Park in Rohini of North West Delhi on September 29.
Giant screens at 100 prominent locations in 70 Assembly constituencies of the Capital will be installed for live telecast of Modi’s speech. Besides, over three dozen councillors including Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Standing Committee chairman of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation are personally monitoring the preparations for the event.
Sources said the idea behind this is to reap maximum gains out of Modi’s visit to the national Capital that would also kickstart the BJP’s campaign for the crucial Delhi Assembly polls scheduled for November this year. “We have planned to set up at least 100 giant screens all across the Capital. Besides one screen in each of the 70 constituencies, arrangements for live telecast will be made in prominent markets and other prominent places that receive high footfall,” said Vijender Gupta, former Delhi BJP chief who is supervising over the preparations for the rally.
As the BJP targets to fill the venue to its capacity with party workers and public, over a dozen screens would also be installed in the Japanese Park so that all present in the rally not only hear, but also get a closer view of the dais.
Along with the live broadcast of Modi’s address in the city, live streaming of his speech will also be made available on the BJP’s internet television channel ‘Yuva TV’.
To make this event a big success, a door-to-door campaign will be launched to ensure large turnout of people at the rally. “The BJP workers will go door-to-door informing people about the significance of Modi’s rally. He is one of the tallest leaders of the party whom countrymen are looking at for getting rid of the Congress misrule and form a better government. Since this will be the first rally of Modi in Delhi and considering his tight schedule, the party will ensure that the maximum people are benefited. His address will be a morale booster for thousands of party workers and supporters,” Gupta said.
Meanwhile, other Delhi BJP leaders too said, Modi’s rally in Delhi will set the tone and tenor of BJP’s campaign for the Assembly polls. “The Assembly elections in Delhi would be fought not just on local issues, but national issues like corruption, dwindling economy and price rise will be major issues that have been affecting all irrespective of class and creed. The Gujarat Chief Minister will highlight these issues in his address,” a party leader said. Apart from logistical arrangements, the rally and public meetings committee headed by Gupta will ensure that a huge crowd turns up. Posters and hoardings of Modi will be put up across the city and in the coming days, the party will also intensify its publicity drive.
