Eminent Muslim cleric Kalbe Sadiq on Friday said that BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi was not untouchable for Muslims, but his role in the Gujarat riots was unjustified. Kalbe asked Modi to change himself in order to be accepted by him.
The All India Muslim Personal law Board vice president assured that he was prepared to overlook Modi's past if he changes himself. However, he added, “I will not speak for all Muslims, but I am ready to ignore his past if Modi changes himself.”
Asked if the Gujarat Chief Minister needs to 'apologise' for the riots, Sadiq said it is ‘childish’ to seek apology, but he should prove that he has changed through his actions.
