“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instilled hope and confidence in the country, which is progressing fast. The policy paralysis has come to an end,” Chouhan said while addressing the Global Investors Summit here.

Taking a leaf out of Modi’s book, Chouhan launched the “Make in Madhya Pradesh” campaign along the lines of the Prime Minister’s “Make in India” initiative.

“We have taken inspiration from the Prime Minister’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and started a ‘Make in MP’ campaign to make Madhya Pradesh an ideal State,” Chouhan said in the presence of Modi.

He added that the Prime Minister had given the slogan of Digital India and Madhya Pradesh has started working towards this.

Chouhan urged industrialists to invest in Madhya Pradesh assuring them that their time and labour would not go waste. Enthused by the Chief Minister’s speech and the work done by him in the State over the years, industrialists committed over `1 lakh crore investment in Madhya  Pradesh.

While the Ambani brothers, Mukesh and Anil, pledged an investment of Rs 50,000 crore, Gautam Adani of Adani Group announced Rs 20,000 crore, followed by Suzlon’s Tulsi Tanti Rs 15,000 crore.

Industrialists who announced their investment plans include Welspun’s Sindoor Mittal (Rs 5,000 crore), Essar group’s Shashi Ruia (Rs 4,000 crore) and Future Group’s Kishore Biyani (Rs 2,000 crore) and Symbiosis open education society (Rs 200 crore).

Talking about the work done by him in the State, Chouhan said that his Government had developed solid infrastructure in the State and successfully brought it out of the Bimaru States’ category.

“Madhya Pradesh has witnessed unprecedented progress in agriculture, irrigation and power sectors. Industrial investment is increasing in the State and it is a revenue-plus State now. In fact, Madhya Pradesh has been experiencing double digit growth for the last seven years. The State’s growth rate is 11.08 per cent, which is highest in the country. The State has also achieved the agriculture growth rate of 24.99 per cent as a result of the important contribution of farmers and the people,” the Chief Minister said.

Chouhan said Madhya Pradesh has to move fast on the path of development, in which the role of the industries is important. He told investors that there is industrial peace and enough land available in Madhya Pradesh.

“We have created a real single-window system to grant clearances for setting up industries. Now, one officer has been made responsible for every industrial project so that various sanctions are given within a prescribed time-limit. The time-limits of various sanctions have also been brought under the purview of Public Services Delivery Guarantee Act,” he said.

Chouhan informed the industrialists gathered there that labour laws in the State have been simplified. “Now, self-declaration and only one return will be required from industries. Procedures of the Pollution Control Board and Food & Drug Controller have also been simplified,” he added.
