More than ten years after a a massive explosion claimed six lives and left 101 others injured in Malegaon in north Maharashtra, a special court here on Tuesday framed charges against Lt Col Prasad Shrikant Purohit, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and five other accused under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and various other sections of the IPC for their alleged involvement in the 2008 blasts.
With the framing of charges against the seven accused, decks have now been cleared for the start of the 2008 Malegaon blasts case. The trial will begin on November 2.
