Malaysian search took last resort in Indian astrology!

Besides involving the might of several countries, the Malaysian Government had also sought the services of leading Indian astrologers to find out the whereabouts of Malaysia Airlines’ MH 370, which went missing after it took off from Kuala lumpur on March 8.

It is said that the Malaysian Embassy in New Delhi through its consulates in various cities in India made discreet enquiries about leading astrologers in the country.

An ace astrologer, whose clientele includes heads of States, corporate maharajas, top bureaucrats and of course, rationalists of the Dravidian movement, confirmed it to The Pioneer on March 11 that the PMO in Malaysia had sought his help in locating the missing aircraft. “But since I had given an appointment to the head of another country, I excused myself from the assignment,” the astrologer, who did not want his name to be quoted, had told this reporter before he emplaned for an international assignment.

He also added that the missing aircraft in all probability had crashed into an ocean following a sabotage. But the astrologer was adamant that this should not be written unless the Malaysian Government itself makes the official announcement. “I do not want to cause any pain to the relatives of the victims,” he had said.

K Gopalakrishnan (62), a Chennai-based astrologer, too was consulted by  Malaysian authorities. Gopalakrishnan told the authorities that the plane had plunged into the Indian Ocean, much to the bewilderment of Malaysian officials.

“I told them on March 16 itself that the aircraft had crashed into the ocean and the debris would be spotted by March 18. The first information about the debris came out on March 19,” Gopalakrishnan told The Pioneer over telephone from Mumbai. He said this is yet another proof of the fact that astrology too was an integral part of modern science.

Najib Razak, the Malaysian Prime Minister, is an ardent believer in astrology and routinely consults a south India-based astrologer on all issues. “I had asked him not to drag his second wife Rosmah Manser into politics as well as in the election.

Manser is having a negative effect on the prospects of Razak,” the astrologer claimed. What makes the topic interesting is the fact that Malaysia is an Islamic country but its political and religious leaders besides those of Indonesia are known for their trust and belief in the Indian system of astrology besides pooja and homam (hawan).

Gopalakrishnan, who is busy working on the future prospects of a corporate baron in Mumbai, too has prediction for the Narendra Modi-led NDA, which he said, is all set to sweep the 2014 lok Sabha election. “I do not see the prospects of Congress touching the three-digit mark,” he claimed.

Way back in the 1990s, a mosque in Surabaya, Indonesia was consecrated after performing Ganapathi Homam and Bhagavati Seva at the instance of Abdurrahman Wahid, the then President of Indonesia. It is said that a Namboodiri  from Kerala was specially flown into Surabaya to perform the Vighneswara pooja.
