listen to people, RaGa tells NaMo

Published on:

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech during the intolerance debate in the lok Sabha and asked the PM “to listen to the people” of India as he asked the BJP Government not to learn wrong lessons from Pakistan where its leaders “crushed the voice of their people”.

Rahul accused the PM of maintaining “silence” when his party men and Ministers were airing “intolerant” comments. He referred to the dog remark of Union Minister General (Retd) VK Singh after the killings of two Dalit children in Haryana and asked why he was being allowed to continue in the Cabinet by the PM.

“Our PM allowed this man to continue as Minister. Ambedkar spent his entire life ....And wrote the Constitution so that the two children are not burnt.  The PM is unable to see this contradiction,” he said amid cries of “shame-shame” from the Opposition benches.
