SSP lucknow, Deepak Kumar said Anurag was staying with lDA V-C Singh as he was his batchmate.
“Anurag had undergone a departmental training in Mussoorie a few days back and later visited lucknow to meet Singh. Both the IAS officers had partied at a hotel on Tuesday night and had returned to the room at the guest house at around 11 pm,” he said.
Anurag was found lying near a transformer located near the guest house. While the eyewitnesses claimed that the IAS officer had wounds on his face and other parts of the body, the police suspect that he either fell from the terrace of the guest house or fell while he was out for a morning walk.
