But one can avail maximum 10 litres; Rs 17,222 schemes unveiled on Govt’s second anniversary
In a move to give relief to people, especially to those belonging to the lower income group of the State, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday announced Rs 25 per litre cashback on purchase of petrol for ration card holders of the State. However, the cashback can be availed up to the purchase of 10 litres of petrol every month and the subsidy amount will be transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account through DBT.
The CM made the announcement during the second anniversary programme of the Government where he laid foundation and inaugurated development projects worth Rs 17,222.02 crores.
“Today the prices of petrol and diesel are touching the sky. This has had a bad effect on the poor and middle class families. A poor person, having a motorcycle in the house, is unable to ride it due to lack of money. He is unable to go to the market to sell his crop. Therefore, I have decided that if such ration card holders fill petrol in their motorcycles or scooters, then at the rate of Rs 25 per litre, the amount will be transferred to their bank account. This system is going to be implemented from January 26 next year. A poor family can get this amount up to 10 litres of petrol per month,” announced the CM in his address.
Soren also launched several new schemes on the occasion, including the Students Credit Card scheme for the students of the State. He said that soon the students of the State would get the benefit of this scheme. Lack of money will never become a hindrance to them for their education, he added. He said that the State Government is working in the direction of implementing the Old Pension Scheme for State Government employees.
The CM on the occasion also launched Integrated Birsa Village Development Scheme cum Kisan Pathshala. 1,000 days special summer campaign was launched against malnutrition and anemia. An MoU was signed for Placement Linked Training Programme and another MoU to promote and provide market for forest produce was signed. Journalist health insurance scheme was launched along with several other schemes.
The CM said that the State marred by multiple ailments needs long-term plans so that the people of Jharkhand could reap benefits of the policies that the Government has initiated in the long run. He said that one has to look beyond mines and minerals in order to make Jharkhand a developed State.
“We have launched around 28-30 schemes during the Covid period and several schemes among the lot will show positive results in the long run. I think we are trying to a right direction to the State in a systematic way. Apart from employment generation and economic progress, we are also working in the field of education, health, water, roads, electricity, etc. The long-term plans will show results in 20-25 years and people will then be able to reap the fruits of development,” he said.
