Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to the Army (Research and Referral) Hospital on Saturday evening to inquire after the health of former Union Minister Jaswant Singh.
The Prime Minister spoke to Singh’s family members at the hospital, and wished for his speedy recovery. A day after former Defence Minister Jaswant Singh was operated upon following a fall at his residence on Thursday night, his condition continued to be critical on Saturday.
He slipped into coma on Friday after surgery and remained on life support system at the Army Research and Referral Hospital for the second consecutive day.
According to the Defence Ministry’s statement on Saturday, Singh is under constant monitoring by a team of neurosurgeons and critical care experts at the hospital. The Ministry said that the former Union Minister’s “vital parameters are stable but he continues to be in coma.”
Meanwhile, well-wishers of Singh performed special prayer for his well-being. “We were in a state of shock when the news of the incident came. We hope he recovers soon. A special prayer was performed at Mahadev temple in Baishakhi seeking blessings for him,” said Jaisalmer Vikas Samiti’s Secretary Chandra Prakash Vyas.
