In yet another mishap in the Navy, a Russian-origin kilo-class submarine INS Sindhughosh suffered some damage when a fishing trawler hit its periscope during a special operation off the western coast late on Thursday night. The Naval authorities, however, described it as a "minor incident," which took place when the submarine was involved in an exercise.
Though the exact location where the mishap took place was not immediately known, there were unofficial versions that made rounds inNaval circles. While one version said that the incident happened off the Karvar coast, the other said that it happened off the Mumbai coast. However, Navy spokesperson based in Mumbai refused to confirm or deny.
