Adismissed Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel, who had been lured into spying for Pakistan’s spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) by a woman who used to chat with him regularly on Facebook, was arrested on Monday. Ranjith KK, hailing from Kerala who had been dismissed from service by the IAF, was nabbed from the Bathinda Airbase in Punjab, said a police official. The accused was later sent to four-day police custody by a Delhi court. He will be taken to Jaisalmer and Gwalior for recovery of evidence.
“We have arrested an IAF personnel from Punjab on charges of spying for the ISI,” Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Yadav said here.
An IAF official said Ranjith, who was a leading Aircraftman with the IAF, was dismissed on Monday evening after evidence was found against him for sharing sensitive information with others.
