Justice and truth have prevailed. The conspiracy hatched against me and the AIADMK has been defeated, was the first reaction by AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa, after she was acquitted of all charges in the Disproportionate Assets case by the Karnataka High Court on Monday.
In a statement released by the party headquarters, Jaya said the verdict has removed the aspersions cast by the DMK to destroy her. “This slur against my name cast by political rivals is gone. The verdict has shown that I have not committed any wrong, it has helped me emerge as gold further refined by fire,” she said.
“It’s a victory for justice, defeat for those who had conspired to defame and malign my legacy and that of my mentor MGR. I thank the people of TN for reposing faith in me. DMK has not been able to win electorally hence they tried to put an end to my career by other means, finally justice has prevailed,” she said.
