Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnephew Chandra Bose joined the BJP in the presence of party president Amit Shah on Monday. Chandra Bose’s father Amiya Nath Bose was a Forward Bloc leader who represented Arambagh in the lok Sabha.
“Joining a party is a personal matter. But I can say that much of my grand uncle’s views resemble that of
the BJP,” said Chandra Bose, who had of late been highly critical of the Congress-led UPA Governments for refusing to divulge information about Netaji’s disappearance.
He like many others of his family had held the top Congress leadership responsible for spying on his father and uncle Dr Sisir Bose, a nephew of Netaji. Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chandra Bose said he liked Modi’s attitude of taking all along. Regarding the declassification of Netaji files, he said, “It is not the demand of the family but the whole nation.”
