Gehlot meets Guv, may go for floor test after 2 MLAs of BTP back him

Published on:

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot late on Saturday met Governor Kalraj Mishra soon two MLAs of the Bhartiya Tribal Party (BTP) announced support for his Government.

Sources said Gehlot may soon go for floor test to force the disqualification of the Pilot camps MLAs. The CM could request the Governor to convene a one-day special session of the Assembly to prove his majority.

Now that Gehlot has the support to the  two BTP MLAs and assured of majority, he could catch the Pilot camp MLAs napping if he calls for a floor test. Majority of the MLAs are unlikely to risk a disqualification and vote against the Government. Even if they do so, they will disqualified and Gehlot could breathe easy because the strength of the Assembly will come down.
