Flood-hit Pakistan aids terror bid

Despite India’s recent humanitarian gesture of alerting Pakistan about potential flooding in the Tawi River due to unprecedented rainfall, there has been no respite in Pakistan-backed cross-border terrorism.

On Thursday, a joint team of security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district, neutralising two terrorists in a joint operation named Operation Naushera Nar IV.

The operation was launched based on precise intelligence provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), which indicated a likely infiltration attempt by terrorists across the LoC.

According to a statement posted on X by the Chinar Corps, “Based on intelligence provided by JKP regarding a likely infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Gurez Sector.

Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire. Troops responded with effective fire, neutralising two terrorists.”

The incident unfolded late Wednesday night. Upon being challenged, the terrorists opened fire, prompting an immediate and effective response from the security forces. The firefight resulted in the elimination of two terrorists, whose identities and affiliations are yet to be confirmed.

A massive search operation was initiated at first light on Thursday to ensure no additional infiltrators remained in the area, with sources indicating that another group of terrorists may still be hiding in the region.

The operation remains ongoing, with security forces maintaining heightened alertness to prevent further breaches.

Despite suffering huge losses during Operation Sindoor, Pakistan-based handlers of terrorist outfits have once again activated new terror launch pads across the LoC and are attempting fresh infiltration bids to sneak inside the Indian territory.

The Indian Army has also repeatedly pointed to evidence of Pakistani forces providing cover fire and logistical support to terrorist groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) to facilitate infiltration.
