After a 10-day break from work, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was back on the job on Monday evening. Rejuvenated after naturopathy treatment, Kejriwal said he was “excited” to finally get back to work.
The 46-year-old AAP convener had got admitted to Jindal Naturecure Institute in Bengaluru on March 5 after his sugar levels shot up alarmingly.
However, now back, Kejriwal tweeted on Monday, “Cough gone, sugar under control. Feeling fresh and fit. I’m excited to return and resume work.”
The AAP chief got admitted even as the party was rocked by several internal turmoil, following the removal of its founders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav from the Political Affairs Committee.
And, to add more drama to the tale, many AAP leaders faced sting operations.
While the CM has had his sugar levels brought down to normalcy, doctors are afraid that he may fall sick again due to his lifestyle. “like all systems of medication naturopathy has its limitations; yes we do a total detoxification, the byproduct of detoxification is getting the diseases cured. However, we can’t say he is completely cured. He needs to manage his daily routine,” said doctors from the institute.
Doctors added that Kejriwal is a highly dedicated patient. They said, “Without any hesitation he mixed with people without taking any VIP facility, we found he was enjoying the bland food. During the process of the treatment we have made sure that his total detoxification has been done and he also knows about what has to be expected being an avid naturopathy practitioner himself.”
Kejriwal also congratulated the Jindal Institute doctors. “Grateful to Jindal Institute, its doctors and staff. Congratulations to Sitaram ji (founder) for setting up such a wonderful institute and running it so well,” he tweeted.
Before his discharge, he said the stay at Jindal gave him enough time for him to think about bringing in changes, especially in education and public distribution system. “I have been talking to Manish (Sisodia) and we have drawn up some proposals and in coming days we will make an announcement on it,” he said.
Kejriwal said he also plans to start mid-day scheme on the lines of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)’s Akshyapatra in Karnataka. Kejriwal’s father who suffered from constipation and his mother from diabetes and arthritis also underwent treatment along with him.
The AAP leader left the institute in a private car accompanied with a police escort. Following the controversy over Kejriwal accepting exemption entitled to VVIPs from paying the toll tax when he landed in the city on March 5, AAP leaders’ today ensured that their leader followed the norms by making prior arrangements for the same, party sources said.
