A 12-year-old girl has alleged gang-rape by two men, including her father, for the last three months in the Capital. The girl, residing in Outer Delhi’s Kanjhawala area with her father, alleged that they were raping her since January this year.

Based on her complaint, an FIR has been registered and the victim’s father was arrested. The hunt is on for his accomplice. According to the police, the accused Ravi Kumar (41) is a daily wage labourer.

“The arrest was made following on the complaint filed by the victim and her mother on Saturday. The medical examination of the victim confirmed rape,” a senior police officer said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that few months back, Ravi had filed a divorce case. However, Ravi’s wife had lodged a case of domestic violence against him in Rohini court.

“The incident came to light on Saturday afternoon when the victim along with her mother came at Rohini court to attend the hearing. During the hearing, the victim told the court that she was sexually abused by her father and one of his associates. First time, they raped her in January and after that, they raped a number of times,” the investigating officer said.

Police said that the accused even threatened the victim with dire consequences if she informed her mother. “Following the revelation, the victim along with her mother lodged their complaint and a case under Sections 376 2 (G), 506 (criminal intimidation), 341 (wrongful restraint) and common intention (34) of the IPC and several sections of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) was registered against both the accused at Kanjhawala police station of Outer Delhi,” an officer added.

On the basis of the statement of the victim, police have arrested the victim’s father Ravi but the other accused managed to give cops a slip after getting a hint of their operation. “Raids are being conducted in Outer Delhi to nab the absconding accused. The victim was also produced before the Child Welfare Committee as she is a minor,” the officer added.
