The Delhi Government on Friday constituted a four-member expert committee to look into deaths due to oxygen shortage during the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said Rs 5 lakh compensation will be given to the family of the deceased if the panel finds the death happened due to lack of life-saving oxygen.

“Taking into account the seriousness of the matter, the Government has formed a committee of four medical experts. The panel will inspect, twice a week, claims of all those families who lost their loved ones due to oxygen scarcity and thereafter disburse Rs 5 lakh financial assistance to each family,” Sisodia said.
