The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday suspended then Excise Commissioner Gopi Krishna, a 2012 batch IAS officer, and Anand Kumar Tiwari, the then Deputy Excise Commissioner, after their names came up in the alleged excise scam in the national Capital, said sources.
The decision to suspend them was recommended by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena. Krishna is posted in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. “The decision to this effect has been conveyed to the Chief Secretary, GNCTD and the Principal Secretary, Vigilance, whose inquiry report into the excise scam formed the basis of LG’s recommendation for suspension,” the sources said.
