Every regional language  worth worshipping: Modi

Published on:

Asking BJP workers to fix eyes on goals for the next 25 years after eight years of “good governance”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday cautioned against attempts to trigger controversies on the basis of languages, saying every regional language in the country is worth worshipping. “BJP sees a reflection of Indian culture in every regional language and considers them worth worshipping.”

Addressing office-bearers meeting at Jaipur virtually, he continued his relentless attack on dynastic parties which, he said, were proving “fatal” for the growth of democracy.

Modi said while the BJP has brought development into the mainstream of national politics, some political parties have been playing with the country’s future for their momentary benefits.

For their selfish interests, the parties look for small tensions and weaknesses in the society to pour poison into them, Modi alleged, adding they incite people sometimes in the name of caste or regionalism. It is essential for the BJP, which is moving forward with its dream of “Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat”, to keep cautioning people against these forces and parties, he said.

“While the world is looking at India with hope, people in the country are looking at the BJP with  great hope,” he said, asking BJP workers to remain glued to goals for the next 25 years after eight years of “good governance”.

After 2014, the BJP brought people out of “despair” and now people are full of aspirations, he said.

All the key office-bearers of the BJP are attending the two-day meet at Jaipur with BJP president  JP Nadda at its head  discussing  ways to unseat  Congress-led-Gehlot  Government in Rajasthan in 2023 Assembly polls  and  work out strategy to win in other States like Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh which are to go to polls by this year-end and other States in 2023, including Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tripura and Nagaland.

In his address Modi said in the past few days attempts are being made to spark controversies on the basis of languages and create division.

“BJP sees a reflection of Indian culture in every regional language and considers them worth worshipping. We have given importance to every regional language in the New Education Policy,” said the PM.

He sought party workers to not to fall in the trap of these controversies and be focused on their developmental goal.

“Prioritizing local languages in the new National Education Policy reflects our commitment to each regional language. The BJP considers Indian languages to be the soul of India and a link to a better future for the nation,” said the Prime Minister in the backdrop of controversy over whether Hindi is the  national language vis-à-vis the other languages in the country.

“The BJP considers Indian languages as the soul of India and a link to a better future for the nation”, said Modi.

Recalling the political journey of the BJP, the Prime Minister said since the days of Jana Sangh, the forerunner to the BJP, patriotism, national interest and nation-building were at the centre of its policies and programmes. He said this patriotism has inspired the party to focus on development and trust.

“Friends, we don’t ever have to take any shortcuts. We have to move forward on the core issues associated with the country’s interests. Our steps should not go astray and we don’t have to let our tongues slip.

“What are these core issues? The poor’s welfare, making the poor’s life easier. We have to keep working to empower the poor. We never have to lose our way,” the Prime Minister said.

He told the BJP members that countless attempts will be made to detract their focus from the country’s main issues and urged them to stick to the matters of development.

“We have been seeing how the ecosystem of some parties is trying with their full strength to distract the country’s attention from its main issues. We never have to fall in the trap of these parties,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister asked the BJP leaders to launch a campaign to ensure that no poor or eligible beneficiary is left out of the Government’s welfare measures.

Modi asked party leaders and workers to set new goals  and  programmes  saying “whatever decisions you make will be followed by me as a party worker”.
