The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is likely to seize a flat owned by the pro-Mamata Banerjee artist Suvaprasanna in Mumbai and freeze his bank accounts.
The flat had close connection with Saradha scam. Suvaprasanna, who had opened a massive art enclosure-cum-museum in Kolkata and had been a key civil society member to lead the Nandigram movement for which he was awarded with a membership in the Food Committee of the Railway Ministry during Mamata’s tenure, is likely to be questioned again by the CBI in a few days.
Meanwhile, Trinamool’s Rajya Sabha MP Srinjoy Bose was on Saturday remanded to four-day CBI custody by an Alipore district court.
The CBI is planning to seize his properties besides his bank accounts. Bose, who reportedly told the CBI on Friday that it was Kunal Ghosh who had introduced him to Saradha scam main accused Sudipto Sen and had forced him to strike a deal with him, however, has failed to give details of the properties he owned at various places both in India and abroad. Among these is a property in the name of the minor daughter of a foreign footballer playing in a Kolkata club, sources said.
As for Madan Mitra, the other Trinamool MP who was hospitalised following CBI summons, the SSKM Hospital director said he was in a position to speak but it will only be the doctors who can tell if he was fit for interrogation.
