The Delhi Police has widened its probe to identify the money trail and the players who operate behind the curtains and have been involved in large scale fixing during the recently concluded IPl season 6.
Delhi Police's Special Cell has written to the ED to investigate and identify the money trail involved in the spot-fixing and the betting scandal. The Delhi Police also gave out details regarding the 27 arrested bookies and cricketers and more suspects.
The letter also mentions underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel who are based abroad but are an eminent part of the Hawala transactions. Few account settlements were also done in Dubai.
"Money transactions, if tracked, would help in investigation. Crime syndicates are being operated for pecuniary benefits and that is why the money trail is necessary," said a senior police official.
