The EC said that NCP chief Sharad Pawar had prima facie violated the poll code by making the ‘ink’ remark. The poll panel asked Pawar Minister to explain his statement by 5 pm on Thursday failing which it would take a decision without further reference to him.
Pawar had asked Mathadi workers (head-loaders) to vote twice by taking advantage of the multi-phase polling schedule by erasing the ink mark which will be put when you vote the first time.
