Drones used to monitor situation

In a surprisingly tech-savvy move the Uttar Pradesh Police is now taking the help of drones to monitor the situation in violence-hit Saharanpur. According to news reports on Sunday, police resorted to the use of drones to keep track of the situation on the ground as the lanes in the area are so narrow it is difficult for police teams to enter.

“The lanes here are very narrow, just three to four feet wide. So it is not possible for police officials to enter them and the rioters are taking advantage of that and escaping. So, we decided to use the drones to keep an eye on things,” said a police officer.
