The Delhi-Noida Direct (DND) flyway will remain toll free for commuters, the Supreme Court on Friday said while disagreeing with Noida Toll Bridge Company ltd’s claim that its refusal to stay Allahabad High Court’s verdict would cause the firm irreparable loss.
The court directed the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) to examine whether the company had recovered its entire project cost by way of toll collected on the 9.5-kilometre Delhi-Noida stretch since 2001. If CAG rules that the cost has been recovered, the DND Flyway will remain toll-free for all times to come.
