The mid-day meal preparation and distribution system for the municipal schools in the Capital will be under the CCTV surveillance from now. Aimed at checking the occurrence of a Bihar-like tragedy, the North and South Delhi Municipal Corporation have asked the NGOs preparing the food for its schoolchildren to install CCTV cameras in and around its kitchen to ensure there is no suspicious activity and entry of the unauthorised persons within the cooking area.
The development comes in wake of the death of two dozen children in a school in Bihar after they consumed poisonous mid-day meal.
