The surge in Covid-19 cases continues unabated as 6,411 more people tested positive for novel coronavirus infection and six deaths were reported in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. The silver lining during this period was that despite having 18,551 active cases, the pressure on the hospitals of the State was almost negligible as only around 300 people were admitted in hospitals.
Uttarakhand on Saturday reported 1,560 fresh Covid cases and 270 recoveries.
Punjab reported 2,901 fresh infections on Friday while one more person succumbed to the disease, according to a medical bulletin.
Goa reported 1,432 new cases with a high test positivity rate of 21.72 per cent.
Manipur recorded 76 new Covid cases on Saturday.
