With an eye on the future and a long-term plan to strengthen its network, reach and connectivity across India, the BJP has planned “party-owned” modern and digital offices with real-time video conferencing facilities in all the 676 districts of the country.
It is understood that State presidents have already been asked to identify lands in their respective States as the “model” of the offices, to be equipped with e-libraries, is ready with the party. In the BJP-ruled States, the Central and State party units will bear the cost of the offices on a 40:60 basis. In the non-BJP ruled States, the Central unit will bear the full cost, party sources said.
Addressing the National Executive meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the party needs to be active and should aggressively help in implementation of the Government’s policies, plans and programmes on the ground. It was felt that the BJP, already the largest party in the world with 9.25 crore members, should have real-time communication and connection with its members with modern offices at all levels.
leader of Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, who briefed the media after adoption of the political resolution in the concluding session of the National Executive, said that a strong view emerged that the party should be campaigning on all the issues and push the Government's initiatives at the grassroots.
In the concluding session of the two-day meet, BJP president Amit Shah informed the delegates that offices with internet connections and digital libraries would be set up. He also explained the kind of offices it has planned. Modi endorsed Shah's plan.
BJP is also seeking to intensively revitalize the party on the ground. Towards this end , it has planned a series of events beginning with “Sampark Abhiyan” in May-June, 'Study camps' on April 6, functions marking Dr BR Ambedkar's birth anniversary on April 14, a function or two of the party at every polling booth and party's participation on International Yoga Day on June 21.
Besides, the BJP will also celebrate its ideologue and thinker Deen Dayal Upadhyay's centenary this year with programmes on “Antodaya” and functions on “Integral Humanism” expounded by Upadhyay, according to Jaitley.
The modernization of party offices and connectivity all over the country was particularly stressed as BJP's political resolution moved by former BJP president Rajnath Singh noted the party's rapid strides at the Centre, States and local level polls “which is actually making it a party with formidable presence from Panchayat to Parliament.”
