The Modi Government has decided to rename the stretch between historic Rajpath and Central Vista lawns in the national Capital as Kartavya Path.
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has convened a special meeting on September 7 and the proposal will be placed before the council following a proposal from the Centre. Rajpath was known as Kingsway during British Rule. According to officials, the entire road and area from the Netaji statue to the Rashtrapati Bhavan will be known as Kartavya Path.
