CD attack on Raman Singh boomerangs on Congress

Published on:

The Congress, which claimed to have hit the bull’s-eye by producing a CD accusing Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh of accepting a bribe from a banker, has lost face after the chairperson of the bank denied the Congress charge.

Indira Priyadarshini Mahila Nagrik Sahakari Bank scandal against Raman Singh has finally fizzled out as bank chairperson, who belongs to a hardcore Congress family, strongly denied paying any money to Raman Singh or his cabinet colleagues.

Congress had released a CD on July 20 in Raipur at a Press conference and accused Raman Singh and his four Cabinet colleagues of taking a bribe of `1 crore each from Indira Priyadarshani Co-operative bank’s chairperson Rita Tiwari. The allegations were attributed to statements of the former bank manager, Umesh Sinha, who was heard saying in the CD that money was paid by Rita Tiwari to Raman Singh.
