The beleaguered BCCI president N Srinivasan may face more trouble as the CBI plans to chargesheet him in the case relating to investments by India Cements in the companies of YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Srinivasan is the CMD of India Cements and the agency is all set to name the company as well as the BCCI boss in the chargesheet. The file has been received by the CBI headquarters from its Hyderabad office for filing the chargesheet in the case. Top CBI sources said, CBI director Ranjit Sinha is learnt to have cleared the file for filing the chargesheet in the case.

Along with India Cements and Srinivasan, Reddy and the auditor of his companies Vijay Sai Reddy are likely to be named in the chargesheet, the sources said.

According to the CBI case, India Cements had allegedly invested Rs 140 crore in Reddy’s group of companies as quid pro quo for favours by his father YSR Reddy during his tenure as Chief Minister of the State.

The favours allegedly received by India Cements include permission for use of additional water from Krishna and Kagna rivers and extension of lease of land for 25 more years.

The case was registered by the CBI against India Cements and others for criminal conspiracy, cheating, criminal breach of trust, criminal misconduct and falsification of account books.
