Five car-borne men dognapped a brown and white Siberian Husky when its owner was giving his pet a morning walk. The weird incident took place in the posh Vasant Kunj Enclave area of South Delhi on Friday.

The shocked owner watched haplessly as his pet, Zoro, was picked up and taken away in a golden coloured Innova, said police.

later, a heartbroken Aftab Khan lodged an FIR with the Vasant Kunj South police station. In his complaint Khan stated that the incident happened so quickly that he could not note down the number of the vehicle in which Zoro was dognapped. Khan also told the police that locals told him that a golden coloured Innova is often seen in the area, catching pigs.

“like every morning, I had taken Zoro out for a stroll on the ridge. Zoro was some distance ahead of me when a golden-coloured Innova stopped near him. There were four or five men in the car and they forcibly pulled my dog inside their vehicle and drove away with him before I could even react,” Aftab said in his complaint.

A Delhi Police officer told The Pioneer that they were scanning the CCTV footage of the area and places close to it to ascertain the movement of the getaway vehicle. However, no headway has been made in this case as yet.

Police said that the Siberian Husky was not on a leash at the time of the incident. “We have registered an FIR under Section 379 (for theft) of the Indian Penal Code. We have accessed CCTV footage from different locations and the same is being scanned to identify the car and the thieves,” the officer said.
