BJP chargesheet to prosecute Cong in people's court

Emboldened by SC’s tearing observation against the UPA for interfering with the CBI’s investigation in coalgate, the principal Opposition is gearing up for a nationwide campaign against the scandal-hit ruling coalition. Nitty-gritty of this event has been finalised and a formal announcement is expected by the weekend.

A committee of BJP leaders have prepared a ‘chargesheet’ against the UPA and the party now plans to take it to the people in every lok Sabha constituency. BJP’s focus would be on 300-odd seats where it is a force to reckon with.

“Party chief Rajnath Singh himself will make this announcement soon. Now that Parliament has adjourned, we want to fight the battle against UPA on the ground,” former BJP chief M Venkaiah Naidu said.

The BJP had paralysed the second half of the Budget Session demanding resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and law Minister Ashwani Kumar for tweaking with the CBI’s probe report in coal block allotment scam.

Swaraj tweeted, “ASG blamed Attorney General. Now Attorney General blames law Minister. The fact is all three of them have misconducted themselves. ASG has resigned.”

Attorney General and law Minister should also resign forthwith," leader of Opposition in lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The Opposition party has also sought the dismissal of Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal after the arrest of his nephew in a bribe for job case. Only a day back, party's Youth Wing staged protest outside Bansal's New Delhi residence and in his constituency, Chandigarh.

The party also claimed that after indictment of the PMO officials by the Supreme Court in the coalgate, the PM has no moral right to continue in office.

"After the Supreme Court's observation today, Prime Minister (Manmohan Singh) and law Minister (Ashwani Kumar) have no right to continue on their posts," BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain told reporters on the sidelines of a function organised by Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM).

The BJP would probably continue this anti-UPA agitation till the Monsoon Session. As part of this programme, top leaders of the party would tour different parts of the country highlighting the 'failures' and 'scandals' of the UPA regime.

"Not much is left in Parliament now. At best there could be two or three more sessions before the general election, if they are held on time. We need to focus on ground work now," another BJP leader said.
