Binny, AAP fight BJP-Cong war

AAP rebel calls Kejri ‘dictator’, party accuses Binny of reading BJP’s script

The acrimony within the AAP reached a new height on Thursday, but interestingly, it was the BJP and the Congress which were being blamed for it. Terming his party chief Arvind Kejriwal a ‘dictator’, AAP’s rebel MlA Vinod Kumar Binny in a Press conference launched a scathing attack against his party for not fulfilling its promises to the people and working in tandem with the Congress. Binny also accused the party of “cheating” the people of Delhi by backtracking on its election promises and questioned Kejriwal’s autocratic functioning.

However, countering the allegation of laxmi Nagar MlA, AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said it seemed Binny was reading out BJP’s notes. Hinting that Binny might have aligned with the BJP, Yadav said Binny raised the same issues, which BJP leader Dr Harsh Vardhan had put forward. “Today when Binny was speaking, it seemed that he was reading a script given to him by someone else. He has raised all those issues which the leader of the Opposition Harsh Vardhan has been raising for the past few days,” Yadav said.

Accusing Kejriwal of being close to Congress MP Sandeep Dikshit and taking directions from the Congress, Binny said that AAP is acting at the behest of Congress and many of the Government decisions were influenced by Congress leaders. “There were closed door deals before the formation of the Government. That’s why he has not given any orders to probe former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Ministers of her Government,” said Binny, adding that Kejriwal had promised to take action against Dikshit and

her Ministers.

“It was shocking to hear that he was asking BJP leader Harsh Vardhan to provide proof against Dikshit and her Ministers if he had. If you (Kejriwal) don’t have proof why did you make false allegations against Dikshit and her Ministers and if you have proof, take action,” said Binny.

It may be recalled that former BJP president Nitin Gadkari had earlier made a similar allegation and accused a deal was brokered between AAP and Congress by a reputed industrialist in a hotel to “stop BJP at any cost” from coming to power in Delhi. Gadkari had stated that he was told by a reputed industrialist of the country how a deal was brokered at a hotel in Delhi.

Binny also alleged, “There was widespread corruption in ticket distribution during Delhi polls. A party that is not able to control corruption within the party, how can they control corruption in the country.”

lashing out at Kejriwal’s style of functioning, Binny said, “You (Kejriwal) have become a dictator. Stop fooling the people of Delhi. All decisions in the party are taken in closed rooms by four-five people (Kumar Vishwas, Sanjay Singh, Gopal Rai and Ashwini Talwar). Arvind gets angry if people express any differences with him. If anyone speaks against him, he starts shouting,” Binny said, adding he is dictator and takes all decisions in the name of referendum or janta ki raisumari (public opinion).

“They are using policy of use-and-throw. First, they have used Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi and still many people in the party are being exploited,” he said and demanded resignation of Kejriwal. Binny alleged though the party during the election campaign had promised to provide relief in term of free water and reduction of power tariff however they put riders. The MlA categorically said he won’t resign and will go on a strike if the promises made to people during the election campaign are not fulfilled by January 27.

Referring to the alleged gang-rape of a Danish woman, he said had another party been in power, then AAP would have held massive protests in the city to target the Government of the day. “What have they done to protect the women in DelhiIJ” he asked.
