With an aim of improving the public grievance redressal system, the AAP Government has directed Principal Secretaries and heads of departments in the State Government to hold ‘Janta Darbar’ every day.
Top sources told The Pioneer that Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has directed Principal Secretaries and HoDs to start public hearing daily between 11 am and 1 pm. “HoDs may record all the grievances on monthly basis and the same should be presented to the Minister concerned,” said the sources.
It is noted that the AAP Government is not happy with the way public grievance redressal system is functioning. As the AAP Government feels that common man’s problems are not being addressed properly, top babus have been roped in for the purpose.
Chief Minister’s Secretary Rajinder Kumar said that the grievance system has been modified to receive grievances both online as well as at Janta Darbar. The officials have been directed to segregate the complaints in five categories — grievances, suggestions, requests, service matters and those belonging to other State Governments. The CM’s Office has categorically stated that the HoDs should directly send their replies to the complainants.
Kejriwal has already directed all AAP MlAs to hold public meetings regularly to feel the pulse of the voters and redress their problems.
It may be noted that the l-G had issued during President Rule a similar direction to babus to address public’s problems.
