The temple town of Ayodhya wore a deserted look on Sunday, reminding one of the days of ‘karsewa’ in the 1990’s. The closed temples and deserted streets belied the claim of the Uttar Pradesh Government that pilgrims and the local people would not be harassed in view of the proposed 84-kosi yatra of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
