Blaming CBI Director for filing affidavit of half truths, the petitioner Prashant Bhushan on Friday demanded immediate dismissal of law Minister Ashwani Kumar, Attorney General GE Vahanvati and MoS V Narayanasamy.
“The Attorney General and the Additional Solicitor General representing the CBI had made a false statement to the Court that this report has not been shared with the Government or with the Attorney General. What is even more significant is that CBI Director met V Narayanaswamy on Friday to discuss and decide the affidavit filed by the CBI Director,” said Bhushan.
“All this shows that CBI cannot conduct this investigation which involves the PMO as well as senior Ministers independently and therefore it is imperative that an independent SIT be constituted for this investigation by the Supreme Court. All this underlines the need for an independent lokpal and for the CBI to be placed under the administrative control of such lokpal,” he added.
