The body of a Jammu & Kashmir police constable, who was abducted by some unidentified gunmen on Friday night in Kulgam district, has been found, a police official said on Saturday.
Constable Saleem Shah, who was on leave, was abducted from his residence in the Mutalhama area of Kulgam in south Kashmir.
A police spokesman said the body was recovered from a nursery near Redwani Payeen village.
“The body bore severe marks indicating that he was brutally tortured to death by the terrorists,” police said.
Initial investigation into the matter has indicated Hizbul Mujahideen’s hand in the constable’s killing, according to police.
