5-yr-old out of danger, may be discharged in two weeks

The 5-year-old rape victim undergoing treatment at AIIMS is showing signs of improvement with doctors claiming that her life is now ‘out of danger’. “Her condition is ‘gradually’ improving but it will take at least two weeks before she is discharged. The child is responding well to antibiotics," Dr DK Sharma, Medical Superintendent of AIIMS, said.

“We are trying to control the infections. Her vital parameters are stable. She is conscious, alert and talking to parents, doctors and nurses. She is having mild fever which is also improving,” Dr Sharma said. Doctors, however, said, the girl was traumatised and did not remember the incident.
