Four Army officials who were guarding the frontiers of the nation in adverse weather conditions died in two snow avalanches near the line of control in Tangdhar and Gurez sectors in north Kashmir late on Tuesday.
“A post in Tangdhar Sector and an Army patrol in Gurez Sector were hit on December 3,” said Col Rajesh Kalia, Ministry of Defence Spokesman in Srinagar.
Three Army personnel were killed in Tangdhar sector and one in Gurez sector, the Spokesperson added.
Due to foul weather, the bodies could be retrieved on Wednesday. This is the third incident of avalanche in the region in the last two weeks.
