As the water level of the Yamuna touched 205.72 metres on Tuesday evening, over 2,000 people were evacuated from low lying areas in East Delhi and relief camps set up. The Old Yamuna bridge was closed to road and rail traffic and the Government has asked the Army to be on alert for helping the civil administration if required.
