Married, so what?

Married, so what?

Sonam Kapoor flaunts her henna-decorated hands while wearing a fusion lehenga from Ralph and Russo at the Cannes red carpet. She does not mind pairing them with a very western Vera Wang nude-hued couture gown with a corset that flowed into a big tulle skirt for her second red-carpet appearance at Cannes 2018. It is a measure of the confidence that Bollywood actresses are no longer shying away from getting married while still at the peak of their career. Marriage has been accepted as part of their natural cycle, both Kareena Kapoor and  Sonam reporting for work immediately after their big day, and is not seen as the end of their stardom.
Kareena has more brand endorsements as a working mother and has no qualms about scooping up a young Taimur for an outing in between her schedules. Aishwarya Rai regularly takes her daughter to Cannes to expose her to accepting her working mom supermodel status. Earlier, even for women who practically carried movies on their shoulders like Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit, marriage was the end of the road for their career – till they decided to make a comeback.  It was Kareena Kapoor who was the game-changer as she decided to balance domestic bliss with a career. And others followed suit. By the looks of it, A-lister Deepika Padukone is up next as she too is planning to take the plunge after a much-in-the-news courtship with actor Ranveer Singh. Finally actresses seem to have made the cut to the league of the modern working woman who maintains a healthy work life balance without batting a heavily mascara-ed eyelid.
